On 2009, it launched a low cost brand of airline named as Jet Konnect. It was launched with the aim, to increase the passenger count for the mother body. Once this aim would be fulfilled the Jet Konnect existence will be ceased.

According to the PTI report of 2010, Jet airways along with JetLite occupied 26.9% of the market share, thus, became the undisputed leader of the aviation market in India. The company is enlisted in Bombay Stock Exchange though 80% of the stocks are controlled by the chairman, Mr. Naresh Goyal, himself.
